New project!
I have been painting on cigar boxes and unfinished instruments built by Drew Hummer of Madcap Instruments. There are more instruments near completion that will be documented soon; until then, here are some pics of a cigar box guitar that I gave my Dad for Christmas. (He tunes it like a banjo and plays it clawhammer style. It sounds great.)
The four metal circles are sound holes. Or a sunrise. Because it’s a rooster.
The back was painted with acrylic, then stained and lacquered.
